Trips around Lipno
Lookout tower Dobrá Voda
A new star has recently emerged on the stage of Czech lookout towers. It's a beautiful metal-structured lookout tower that rises above the only town on the left bank of Lake Lipno – Horní Planá. From it, you can observe the upper part of Lake Lipno, the Boletice military area, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Smrčina, Třístoličník, or the highest peak of the Czech-Austrian part of the Šumava Mountains - Plechý, with an elevation of 1378 meters. On clear days, you can even catch a glimpse of the Alps.
Riding a bike around Černá during Indian summer
Indian summer belongs to the most beautiful periods of the year. The leaves of the trees gradually change their colors from green through yellow, orange, and red until they eventually turn brown, mercilessly falling from the trees, and a chilly autumn sets in. If we add the essence of sunlight and a pleasant, refreshing, but not yet freezing air, we get the ideal combination of sensations for a bike trip through the autumn landscape.
Plechý mountain and Plešné lake
A trip to the highest peak of the Šumava Mountains - Plechý is definitely a must if you spend your free time in the Lipno area. You can embark on a hike to the Šumava peak practically anytime, but in the winter months, it's always better to consult with experts in mountain activities - the members of the Mountain Service. They have one of their cabins right at the starting point of one of the routes leading to the summit, which is in Nová Pec. There is also a small paid parking lot right next to it.
The Portal of Joseph´s Tunnel (Josefova štola) at Černá v Pošumaví – technical landmark
The newly reconstructed and re-opened technical landmark – the Portal of Joseph´s Adit you will find near Černá v Pošumaví by the village Mokrá. A new graveled educational trail will lead you there.
The Animal Park Altenfelden in Austria
In the middle of the granite hills in Mühlviertel, there is the extensive game reserve of Altenfelden. It is the largest zoo in Austria and has over 200 animal species on an area of 80 hectares.

The lookout towers Moldaublick and Alpenblick in Austria
The lookout towers Moldaublick (in Czech: Vltavská vyhlídka) and Alpenblick (in Czech: Alpská vyhlídka) are situated near the Czech-Austrian border (near Zadní Zvonková) near the village of Ulrichsberg, in the district of Rohrbach and on the hillside of Sulzberg Hill - 1041 meters high. You will find these beautiful outlooks in the Austrian part of the Bohemian Forest and they provide you a breath-taking view.
The town Český Krumlov – the pearl of South Bohemia
The South Bohemian town of Český Krumlov is situated 22 km southwest of České Budějovice and the Vltava River flows through this town encircling the medieval town centre like a blue ring. It is considered a significant tourist and cultural centre of South Bohemia which was registered in the UNESCO World Heritage in 1992, and its medieval core has been since 1963 an Urban Conservation Area.
